The section of the RTVE Audio platform expands its offer of audiobooks with a selection of works by Rosario de Acuña, Álvaro Mutis, Gloria Fuertes, Antonio de Nebrija and Picasso.

According to the director of Education, Cultural Diversity and International of RTVE, Ignacio Elguero, this initiative aims to "pay tribute to great names of literature on the occasion of some anniversary, and to recover and make known writers, especially women writers, forgotten or simply not recognized".

The aim of this new cultural offer is also to encourage reading through listening. The works are performed by prominent actors and specialists from RNE. Benigno Moreno, head of RNE's sound fiction team, is in charge of the production.

Known for her activism and literary work, Rosario de Acuña (1850-1923), whose 100th anniversary of her death is being commemorated, wrote the book of short stories 'La casa de muñecas' (The Doll's House). Published in 1909, these short stories explore everything from social and political issues to sentimental matters. The actress and history graduate Alba Escudero interprets this work.
