The Kunstmuseum Pablo Picasso Münster is devoting an extensive exhibition to Fernande Olivier and Francoise Gilot, Picasso's companions for many years. They were the only two of Picasso's partners to record in writing their memories of their years with the artist.
Both women are also inseparably linked to Picasso's work to this day, something that is reflected in the selection of works in the exhibition, with some 90 paintings, sculptures, works on paper and ceramics. The exhibition is part of the Picasso Celebration 2023, which commemorates internationally the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso's death.
The exhibition is part of the project called Picasso Celebration 1973-2023, a programme of more than forty exhibitions and events commemorating the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso's death, which will take place between 2022 and throughout 2023 at the venues of renowned cultural institutions in Europe and the United States.
