In PICASSO-BARCELONA. A Cartography, Claustre Rafart i Planas, curator of the Fundació Museu Picasso collection in Barcelona until 2022, presents a biography of Picasso that is also a guide to unravel the relationship between the young artist and Barcelona, the city that witnessed his artistic evolution towards modernity. The book provides a meticulous account of the places and experiences related to his artistic training during his youth and offers a unique insight into his early world.

The author puts the reader in Picasso's shoes, revealing the places he frequented through the eyes of the artist himself. Rafart i Planas closely examines the social connections that influenced the painter's life, analyzing his early works and the places that were captured in his creations. The narrative presents a portrait of Barcelona at the turn of the century, which served as inspiration for the artist and continues to live on in his work.

As an extension of the publication, 15 totem poles have been strategically placed in different parts of Barcelona, revealing anecdotes and crucial information about Picasso's life and work, taking the information from PICASSO-BARCELONA. The Cartography.

The book is a collaboration between the Museu Picasso de Barcelona, the Barcelona City Council and Editorial Tenov and commemorates both the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso's death in 1973 and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Museu Picasso in Barcelona.

The presentation on December 5 will be attended by Emmanuel Guigon, director of the Museu Picasso de Barcelona, and Claustre Rafart, accompanied by journalist Víctor Amela.
