There is no doubt that Picasso is recognized mainly for his pictorial work. However, his signature is also stamped on dozens of poems. The Malaga-born artist's passion for letters also appears in his paintings, where they take on enormous importance.

Writing and painting are inseparable for Picasso. Just as a painting can be described with words, a word can be painted in a painting. The book Alphabet is presented as an abridged dictionary, exploring the words and names that play a crucial role in Picasso's poetic texts. These multiple definitions and uses illuminate the hidden meaning of the writings and create a web of threads.

Through these poems, readers can access the heart of the Picasso universe and explore the everyday poetry of scenes from daily life, the basic concepts of love and eroticism, violence and war, as well as sacrificial rites.

This work, written by Alicia Navarro, Androula Michael, Carlos Ferrer Barrera, Cécile Godefroy, Christine Piot, Claustre Rafart i Planas, Emmanuel Guigon, Fabienne Douls, Francesc Cortès, Georges Sebbag, Gilbert Lascault, Jean-Jacques Lebel, Jèssica Jaques Pi, Johan Popelard, and edited by the Fundació Museu Picasso de Barcelona, is another example of Picasso's multifaceted personality and genius.
