There is no doubt that Picasso is recognized mainly for his pictorial work. However, his signature is also stamped on dozens of poems. The Malaga-born artist's passion for letters also appears in his paintings, where they take on enormous importance.
Writing and painting are inseparable for Picasso. Just as a painting can be described with words, a word can be painted in a painting. The book Alphabet is presented as an abridged dictionary, exploring the words and names that play a crucial role in Picasso's poetic texts.
