Picasso and the Antiquity

In 2015, following the discovery in several salons of frescoes whose origin could date back to the end of the Renaissance, H.S.H. Prince Albert II launched an ambitious conservationrestoration campaign of the historic decorations of the Palais princier. This restoration places the Palais de Monaco in the course of world art history by the extent of the discoveries.

For this event, an exhibition in the salons of the Grand Apartments on the theme of “Modernity and Classicism” was proposed, placing in dialogue studies and original works by Picasso and the historical decor of the Palace of Monaco.
