The exhibition Picasso and Prehistory is part of the “Art and Prehistory” season that the Musée de l’Homme will present from October 2022. It shows to what extent prehistoric art nourished the work of Picasso, who was captivated by the discoveries of cave paintings, rock engravings, megalithic sites, pieces of furniture and other Paleolithic Venus at the beginning of the 20th century. Some forty paintings, sculptures, drawings, ceramics, and engraved pebbles by Picasso will be brought together, in dialogue with artifacts from the prehistoric world of which the artist had knowledge through originals or reproductions
