The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (RMFAB) are the most visited museums in the country and house the most important national collection of plastic arts. Over 20,000 works and six museums relate History, from the 15th to the 21st century, through painting, sculpture and drawing. Their missions are based on two major axes: to conserve, study, enhance and enrich the artistic heritage of the Belgian State while at the same time making the Museums a place of openness and sharing for the widest possible audience. In addition to their permanent collection, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts hold temporary exhibitions presenting major works from all over the world
