On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of Pablo Picasso and as part of the activities programmed for this commemoration, the intervention designed by Rogelio López Cuenca -National Prize for Plastic Arts 2022- for the González Martí National Museum of Ceramics and Sumptuary Arts will be inaugurated at the museum. The installation is part of an exhibition project that is being developed in different museums belonging to the network of State Museums under the Ministry of Culture and Sport.
Proposing a dialogue with the museum's own collection, the installation is made up of a set of ceramic pieces and objects of decorative or sumptuary function, whose inspiration -more or less direct, more or less spurious- is both the artistic production of Picasso and the figure of the artist as a character.
In addition, the project is completed with PI©A$$o™, a publication in the form of a newspaper which will be available free of charge to visitors to the various project venues, and which brings together a selection of articles by leading researchers and scholars both on Picasso's work and on the diversity of ways in which the phenomenon of his contradictory fame unfolds and is consumed in contemporary society.
