In 1957 Picasso visited the exhibition on Spanish ceramics organized by the Palais Miramar in Cannes. According to the press at the time, when he saw the works in the exhibition, he said: "But is it possible that they have done this before me?” This is the origin of the donation of 16 ceramic works by Picasso to the Barcelona Art Museums, today in the collections of the Museu del Disseny.
The exhibition focuses on this history, the related facts, the people involved and, most importantly, Picasso's expressed willingness to show his ceramics alongside to those in the collection of the Museu, a representation of the most outstanding pieces in the history of Spanish ceramics.
