The Museum Casa Natal Picasso will next be presenting the exhibition The Ages of Pablo, as part of the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the Malaga-born artist. The exhibition, which can be seen in the temporary exhibition hall, offers a chronological and stylistic overview of Picasso's work according to the stages that marked his life, from his formative years to his time in the company of Jacqueline Roque. Paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics and photographs serve to reveal a timeless Picasso with a permanent relevance.

With more than fifty works from the Museo Casa Natal Picasso, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the Museu Picasso Barcelona, ICO Collections, Fundación Málaga, Fundación Mapfre, Fundación Telefónica, Fundación Palau, the Arias family and the collaboration of the Fundación "la Caixa", this exhibition celebrates the artist from his place of origin, where his journey begins. Thus, 'The Ages of Pablo' shows Picasso's vibrant capacity to continue transmitting life and emotion, through eight sections that reflect his fundamental stages: 'Formative Years', 'Blue and Pink', 'Cubisms', 'Classicism', 'Surrealism', 'Wartime', 'The Joy of Living' and 'The Years of Jacqueline'.

The image chosen to announce this exhibition is Allegory of Glory (1895), a project for a poster that never materialised. In the centre is a Spanish flag with the word 'Málaga' in large characters, and on either side is the city's coat of arms, its colours, green and purple, as well as the outline of its Cathedral. Although Picasso was beginning to feel distanced from the city, as he lived in Barcelona and only returned to Malaga in the summer, he still kept his place of origin in mind.
