The Picasso Effect

In September-December 2023, the Musée national Picasso-Paris and MARe/ Museum of Recent Art Bucharest will organize The Picasso Effect, a major exhibition taking as a starting point the 1968 Picasso exhibition in Bucharest. Almost 150 engravings and lithographs by the artist were brought together. They had a considerable impact on the younger Romanian generation of artists, for whom Picasso embodied the freedom of creation. The Musée national Picasso-Paris invites you to rediscover many of the works shown during that exhibition, alongside masterpieces from the Picasso Museum’s collection and a selection of Romanian art displaying the longstanding and diverse influence of Picasso.
