To inaugurate the 50th anniversary year of Pablo Picasso’s death, on 8 April 1973, the Musée national Picasso-Paris is offering a spectacular rearrangement of its permanent collection, combining the museum’s masterpieces with works by modern and contemporary artists, and inviting the British fashion designer Paul Smith to imagine and design the whole show. In a largely chronological journey, allowing the public to travel the whole of the artist’s creation, the public will find some of the most emblematic moments and subjects of Picasso’s work. By bringing his exceptional collection back to the heart of the museum, this new exhibition is a playful and joyful invitation to rediscover the artist’s work.
